Host a Clean Space Day

A proposed Space Conservancy education campaign, not an officially designated international observance. Choose a date that works for your school.

Before the event

1. Ask an educator or campus organizer to lead and follow school activity and visitor procedures.
2. Choose a resource from the classroom toolkit.
3. Use ordinary classroom supplies. No fundraising or specialized equipment is needed.

A 60-minute program

1. 10 minutes: Discuss satellite services used on Earth.
2. 30 minutes: Complete the middle-school activity, or the research and comparison portions of the high-school activity.
3. 15 minutes: Teams share a poster, an evidence-based claim, and an unanswered question.
4. 5 minutes: Collect exit tickets.

College groups can use the full 60-minute policy activity instead.

Measure learning

Before and after, ask students to define debris, name a satellite service, and distinguish prevention from removal. Educators can tally improved answers without submitting student names.

Share responsibly

Keep presentations within school unless school permissions allow wider sharing. Use the school’s approved process before publishing student names, photographs, or work.

Campaign status

A coordinated date and organizer contact have not yet been announced. These resources can be used independently now.
